Fit Girl Swimwear

June 23, 2017 by Ashley

One of the flights on our honeymoon restricted us to just 33 lbs of luggage, which is insane. We powered through it. One lesson: you have to be incredibly selective about what you bring, and versatility trumps fashion. Each resort or camp we stayed at had at least one pool and several spa options, and we were **supposed** to go shark cage diving at our last destination.  A swimsuit was a must – but I’ve only had space for one.

I, like many fit girls, struggle with finding a swimsuit that fits right in the top (hello A cup) and the bottom (#bootygains).  I came across the Smoothies line from Body Glove about two years ago, and now it’s all I wear.  I love the bold colors that enable you to mix and match across styles and patterns.

Body Glove sells tops and bottoms separately, so you can avoid any awkward sizing issues.  The tops hold snug during watersports (I wear mine scuba diving), and fit more like a sports bra than a swimsuit.  The bottoms are a cheeky cut, which gives a lot of shape to your glutes but don’t slide up.  Bonus: At $20-30/piece on 6pm.com (the Zappos closeout; if you’ve never shopped it, you’re missing out!), they’re barely more expensive than a suit from Target, and 3x the quality!

I picked a reversible option for our honeymoon because it enabled me to have two different looks while only packing one suit.  No underwire or padding also means this will pack down incredibly small. Win win!

The exact suit I brought on my honeymoon is sold out, so I’ve linked the same style in different prints, and some similar styles I love.

Shop my favorites here:  (and ALL of these are on sale!)
